The deadline to ask questions is 5/09/2025 5:00 PM CST This contract is for the installation of approximately 1100 linear feet of 8-inch C900 DR-18 PVC water line with a residential neighbourhood. The placement of the water line will follow the roadside ditch flow line or as shown on the plans. All road crossings and driveway crossings will be wet bored with no casing. Everywhere else can be open cut placement of the new water line. Line will nee to be placed, pressure tested, chlorinated and have passing bacteriological results prior to using. Existing service lines will need to wait till the new line is active before making the new service lines and reconnections to existing meters. Repairs to sidewalks, culverts under sidewalks, and asphalt as shown on the plans. The project will also consist of the placement of approximately 404 linear feet of 12-inch C900 DR-18 PVC water line that will follow the roadside ditch flow line or as shown on the plans. One road crossing will be bored along McPhail Street and all driveways will also be wet bored with no casing. Everywhere else can be open cut placement of the new water line. All existing lines which tied to the old line shall be connected to the new line (including service connections reconnected to existing meters) after the new lines have been installed, pressure test, and have passing bacteriological results prior to using. Repairs to sidewalk, culverts under sidewalks, and asphalt as shown on the plans. All work shall reach substantial completion by 120 days. Bidders must submit a Cashier's or Certified Check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Tomball if a Bid Bond from a reliable Surety company cannot be executed prior to bid submittal, payable without recourse to the order of the City of Tomball, in an amount not less than ten percent (5%) of the largest possible bid submitted as a guaranty that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute bonds and guaranty in the forms provided within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to him. Bids without the required Check or Bid Bond will not be considered. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and Warranty Bond each in the amount of the contract, written by a responsible Surety Company, authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and satisfactory to the Own Contractor shall furnish and install all materials and appurtenances as called out on plans. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in callouts, the City of Tomball, reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction methods if previously discussed in pre-bid, or to reject the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive formalities, and to accept the bid which seems most advantageous to the City's interest.
