Renovation of an educational facility in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Modernization South Hadley Middle School Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond from a licensed surety company, or a Certified check, or a Treasurer's or Cashier's check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the base bid payable to the Town of South Hadley. A payment bond in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price will be required of the Successful Bidder. The successful bidder will also be required to furnish workmen's compensation insurance and public liability insurance. This contract will be awarded only to a responsive and responsible bidder whose bid meets all of the requirements in the specification. The contract shall be awarded by the Chief Procurement Officer, which reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in part or in whole, any and all proposals or to take whatever action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of South Hadley. Questions concerning thisInvitation for Bid must be submitted in writing to: Scott Moore at the town hall address above or smoore@southhadleyma.gov before 4:00 PM on June 20, 2025 South Hadley Middle School Elevator- 275-P-106 The elevator was originally manufactured by Dover Elevator and was installed in or around 2000. The Town of South Hadley is seeking proposals for a complete modernization of the controls, power unit, operating fixtures, door operation, cab interior components, and related equipment. Scope of Work: o Controller 1. New microprocessor controller 2. Non-proprietary by design including on board diagnostics 3. Emergency battery lowering device 4. Solid state starters 5. Viscosity control 6. New machine room wiring o Power unit 1. New submersible power unit, motor, pump, valve, muffler, and tank 2. New shut of valve (machine room) 3. New oil 4. Oil line piping will be reused and modified as needed o Jack 1. Jack retained, provide new hydraulic packing o Car 1. New car top exit switch 2. New car top inspection station 3. Re-line guide shoes 4. Retain and reuse car sling and platform o Hoistway 1. New wiring package: single traveling cable, hoistway wiring, interlock wiring, interlock connectors, and serial writing 2. New steel tape leveling system with mounting hardware, selector and magnets (terminal limits included) 3. New hoistway duct kit 4. Retain and reuse guide rails o Pit 1. New pit stop switch 2. New overspeed rupture valve kit (if required) 3. Retain buffers, clean and paint o Cab 1. Retain and re-skin car door 2. Replace interior panels and handrails (options to be provided to owner) 3. Install new carpet tiles (options to be provided to owner) o Door equipment 1. New GAL MOVFR door operator with complete carside equipment including adapter kit (tracks and hangers), clutch with car door lock latch and contact, and car top inspection station with alarm signal 2. New micro light door re-opening device 3. New interlock and pick up assemblies for integral hoistway at each landing 4. New hoistway door rollers at each landing 5. New gibs for all doors 6. Retain integral hoistway door panels and tracks, clean and lubricate 7. Retain and reuse entrance frames and sills o Car fixtures 1. New main car station #4 stainless steel vandal type buttons 2. New car riding lantern standard stainless steel vandal type o Hall fixtures 1. New surface mounted hall stations at each landing stainless steel vandal type button 2. New digital hall position indicator at the main landing, stainless steel, surface mounted 3. New hoistway jamb braille at each landing 4. New fire service features, hoistway access, two-way communications o All fluids and old equipment must be removed and disposed of by the contractor, however oil may be put into sealed containers and dropped off at our DPW facility for recycling
