The extent of the work consists of the installation of a new sanitary sewer main along East 3rd Street from 11th Avenue to Country Club Drive in the City of Vinton, Iowa. Existing sanitary sewer and water services will be removed and/or abandoned and replaced to the street right-of-way, curb and gutter sections will be replaced, and the existing street will be reconstructed with seal coat. Contractor shall fully complete in 35 working days with a late start date of September 1, 2025. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $1,000.00 per Working Day will be assessed for each Working Day that any work shall remain uncompleted beyond the number of Working Days allowed. Est. Value: $ 297,512.00 The bidder's security shall be in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount including all add alternates and shall be the Jurisdiction's bidder's bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Jurisdiction. No other type of bid security will be accepted. The bidder's bond shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bond. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a construction performance, payment, and maintenance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bonds to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair from the time of acceptance of the improvements by the City for not less than two (2) years.
