Site work and paving for a civil project in Polo, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
This project requires 23% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.035. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on August 05, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the Region Two/District Two Office in Dixon. Phase I and II engineering services are required for the preparation of a project report (anticipated to be a categorical exclusion) and Phase II contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the reconstruction and shoulder widening of approximately 6.0 miles of IL 26 from 0.4 Mi. S. of Rudy Rd South of Freeport to IL 72 (W). The proposed improvement includes pavement and shoulder reconstruction, profile revision, minor geometric improvements, the repair, replacement and/or extension of approximately 20 culverts, drainage design, supplemental survey, ditch grading, existing ROW survey, hydraulic surveys and analyses, intersection improvements, improve shoulders to accommodate bicycles per the Complete Streets Policy, guardrail improvements, proposed ROW documents, utility conflict identification and/or coordination, coordination with resource agencies and building removal. It is anticipated that a public involvement meeting may be necessary, and it could be Virtual or In-Person Statements of Interest, including resumes of only the key people noted above, must be submitted electronically to the Central Bureau of Design and Environment through the Engineering Prequalification and Agreement System (EPAS). The completion date for this contract will be 60 months after authorization to proceed The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
