**As of August 7th, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on September 11th, 2025.** West 35th Street Water and Wastewater Pipeline Renewal The water system upgrades include replacement of approximately 1,500 linear feet of water line and 650 linear feet of wastewater. And the a storm drain improvement of over 600'. The Work consists of water, wastewater, and storm drain system renewals in the area bounded by W35th Street between Mopac (east) and Exposition Blvd (west). This project is part of Austin Water's and Watershed Protection Department's efforts to replace aging and deteriorated pipeline infrastructure. The water system upgrades include replacement of approximately 1,500 linear feet of water line and 650 linear feet of wastewater. Water line breaks are well documented in this area. The storm system upgrades include approximately 750 linear feet of 18-inch, 36-inch, and 42-inch storm drain with associated structures, and approximately 3,500 square yards of pavement replacement. African American 1.81% Hispanic American 5.39% Native/Asian American 0.31% WBE 1.43% All Bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable Bid guaranty in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid, as specified in Section 00100, Instructions to Bidders. Performance and payment bonds when required shall be executed on forms furnished by OWNER. Each bond shall be issued in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount by a solvent corporate surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and shall meet any other requirements established by law or by OWNER pursuant to applicable law. Minimum wage rates have been established and are specified in Section 00830, Wage Rates and Payroll Reporting. Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within two hundred seventy (270) Calendar Days after date specified in the Notice to Proceed, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. Final completion shall be achieved within sixty (60) Calendar Days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages are one thousand three hundred and sixty dollars ($1,360.00) per Calendar Day for failure to substantially complete the work and one thousand six hundred and ninety dollars ($1,690.00) per Calendar Day for failure to achieve final completion within sixty (60) Calendar Days after substantial completion, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any minor informality in any Bid or solicitation procedure (a minor informality is one that does not affect the competitiveness of the Bid).
