Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Waucoma, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 8,000-square-foot pre-engineered storage facility; for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility; and water / sewer project.
Fayette County Board of Supervisors is seeking bidders to bid to contract for public improvements for the Fayette County Shop Building at 23235 247th Street, Waucoma, Iowa, 52171. Work on the improvement shall commence on or before the date specified in the written "Notice to Proceed" and shall be fully completed and ready for acceptance by December 24, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $200 per calendar day will be assessed for each day that the work shall remain uncompleted after December 24, 2025, with due allowance for extension of contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor, as approved by the Fayette County Engineer. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 and as specified by the Fayette County Board of Supervisors. The bid security shall be 10% of the total amount of the bid. The project consists of a proposed building located near the community of Alpha, Iowa. The proposed building is an approximately 8,000sf pre-engineered metal building on shallow concrete foundations with a reinforced concrete floor slab over under-slab insulation. The proposed building will consist of approximately five, 60ft deep vehicle bays, employee restroom, and mechanical room, with a storage mezzanine above. The restroom and mechanical room area are designed as a best available refuge area in the event of severe weather. A locker area for up to four employees and shower will be provided within the restroom. Building access will be provided via five 14' x 16' overhead doors and two walk doors. Water service will be provided to the proposed building by a deep well on site. Sanitary service will be discharged into a septic tank and field on site. A diesel fuel station will be located South of the proposed building. The Work also includes fire alarm/smoke detection, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work. The Fayette County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
