Questions must be submitted online via the Clarifications feature in ProcureWare The City of Stamford, Connecticut is requesting proposals from qualified Consulting Engineering firms to provide engineering services for the preparation of contract plans and documents for the East Main Street (U.S. Route 1) Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project. The full scope of work is described in the scope/specifications and drawings appended hereto. The projected construction cost is expected to be in the range of $5,250,000. The project area includes East Main Street (U.S. Route 1) between Lincoln Avenue/Lockwood Avenue and Standish Road. The improvements will include upgrade and installation of approximately 2,000 LF of concrete sidewalk along both sides of East Main Street (U.S. Route 1) in the City. The project also includes concrete curbing, crosswalks/curb ramps, retaining wall repair east of Lawn Avenue, pedestrian signal upgrades at East Main Street and Lincoln Avenue intersection, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon's, and a pedestrian refuge island at East Main Street and Standish Road intersection, full signal replacement at East Main Street and Blachley Road intersection, streetlights along the north side of East Main Street and at crosswalk locations, new bus shelters, additional pedestrian safety and speed feedback signs, and more street trees.
