Site work for a civil project in Gabriola, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Regional District of Nanaimo, hereinafter referred to as the "Regional District", invites Tenders for Coats Marsh Dam Decommissioning. Coats Marsh Dam is located in Coats Marsh Regional Park on Gabriola Island, BC. The dam and its appurtenant structures are regulated under the BC Dam Safety Regulation and include a 3.3 m high concrete weir, walkway, earthen berm, and outlet pipe. The goal of this project is to safely decommission the dam, while restoring the marsh bottom and outlet channel to provide seasonal wetland habitat. Major project components include: a) Demolition of the existing weir structure b) Infill grading around the existing berm c) Overflow channel excavation at the marsh outlet d) New reinforced concrete grade control structure at the marsh outlet e) Site restoration planting f) Construction of habitat channels (provisional)
