Site work for a water / sewer project in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City of Richmond, Virginia, seeks bids from qualified firms to provide general contracting services for the construction of the CSO 019A, CSO 19B, and Hampton St Pump Station Improvements Project. The Project will entail modifying regulator structures and will include maintenance of traffic, grading, erosion control measures, and restoring the site to the original contours, among other services The Project is located at these three sites: A. CSO 019A-Intersection of Hampton Street and Colorado Avenue, Richmond, VA B. CSO 019B-Intersection of Hampton Street and New York Avenue, Richmond, VA C. Hampton Pump Station-1900 Hampton Street, Richmond, VA A. The Work at CSO 019A shall include the following (along with all appurtenant Work): 1. Erosion and sediment control measures and site security features. 2. Temporary flow control system in accordance with Specification Section 01 57 28, (Temporary Flow Control). 3. Implementation of a maintenance of traffic plan. 4. Excavation of the structure and demolition of the manholes and top slab. 5. Demolition of Brown and Brown regulator, orifice plate along with stairs and railing. 6. Extension of the structure walls and casting of a new top slab with manhole frame and covers. 7. Coordinating with Dominion Electric and providing a new electrical service to the site. 8. Installation of electrically actuated slide gate and access platforms. 9. Installation of instrumentation, and controls along with associated conduit and wiring. 10. System startup and training. 11. Cleanup, landscaping, and site restoration. 12. Supply and installation of all other appurtenances and related Work required to complete the Project and as described and shown in the Contract Documents. B. The Work at CSO 019B shall include: 1. Erosion and sediment control measures and site security features. 2. Temporary flow control system in accordance with Specification Section 01 57 28, (Temporary Flow Control). 3. Implementation of a maintenance of traffic plan. 4. Demolition of Brown and Brown regulator. 5. Installation of instrumentation along with associated conduit and wiring. 6. Installation of an Emergency Pump Connection ("EPC"). 7. Supply and installation of all other appurtenances and related work required to complete the project and as described and shown in the contract documents. C. The Work at the Hampton Pump Station shall include: 1. Implementation of a temporary flow control system, in accordance with Specification Section 01 57 28 (Temporary Flow Control). 2. Demolition of mechanical, heating and ventilation and electrical gear. 3. Installation of electrically actuated slide gate. 4. Coordinating with Dominion Electric and providing a new electrical service to the site. 5. Structure modifications and installation of HVAC system. 6. Installation of electrical gear to include exterior cabinets with generator connection, along with a MCC, panels, conduit, and wiring. 7. Work associated with the MCC includes installation of gear to operate the existing two pumps. 8. Installation of instrumentation, and controls along with associated conduit and wiring. 9. Installation of sump pump. 10. System startup and training. 11. Cleanup, landscaping, and site restoration. 12. Supply and installation of all other appurtenances and related Work required to complete the Project and as described and shown in the Contract Documents. D. The Work shall also include: 1. Furnishing of all labor, material, superintendence, plant, power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies, services, and other means of construction that are necessary or proper for the performance and completion of the Work. 2. Sole responsibility for adequacy of plant and equipment. 3. Maintaining the Work area and site in a clean and acceptable manner. 4. Maintaining existing facilities in service at all times, except where specifically provided for otherwise herein. 5. Protecting finished and unfinished Work. 6. Repairing and restoring Work damaged during construction. 7. Furnishing as necessary proper equipment and machinery, of a sufficient capacity, to facilitate the Work and to handle all emergencies normally encountered in Work of this character. 8. Furnishing, installing, and protecting all necessary guides, track rails, bearing plates, anchor and attachment bolts, and all other appurtenances needed for the installation of the devices included in the equipment specified. Make anchor bolts of appropriate size, strength and material for the purpose intended. Furnish templates and shop drawings for installation.
