City of Ottawa, Infrastructure and Water Services Department, Design and Construction Municipal Branch, is looking to qualify General Contractors and Subcontractors for the Mooney's Bay Sanitary Sewer Re-alignment Phase 3 project CP000954. The General Contractors qualiifed on the RFQ will be invited to tender on the 2nd stage RFT later this year. Subcontractors required include: Trenchless Installer Civil - Shoring Civil - Sewer Pipe & Structures Sewage Bypass Pumping The following description of the Work is not, nor is it intended to be, complete and all inclusive. In general, the Work under this contract consists of an extension and rerouting of the Mooney's Bay Collector (MBC) to tie it into the existing sanitary sewer and connect to previously installed sewer segments under the rail corridor. An existing plug in an existing maintenance hole east of the rail corridor is to be removed and abandoned MBC segments filled with grout. It is understood that the scope may somewhat change from what is presented in this RFQ to the subsequent RFT. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: Trenchless Works Approximately 51m of 1200mm diameter gravity sewer to be installed by a steerable, closed-face trenchless method providing positive face support against earth and water pressure The trenchless alignment will cross under an active, in-service watermain, a storm sewer, and sanitary sewer. These must be protected throughout the trenchless installation Civil Works Settlement monitoring; Shaft construction for the trenchless installation; Shoring: Earth excavation; Groundwater management; Sewer and maintenance hole installations; Bypass pumping: Sewer abandonment Traffic Management Roadway Reconstruction General Commissioning Restorations In addition to above project descriptions, the drawings taken from the most recent design package are available on Merx and form part of this Pre-Qualification. A letter from the Surety Company confirming the respondent's total bonding limits. The successful bidder of the Stage 2 RFT will be required to provide a 50% Performance Bond and 50% Labour & Material Payment Bond on behalf of the respondent for all work. A letter from the Insurance Company confirming their ability to obtain the required Insurance Coverages as indicated in Article 3.7.3 Insurance Requirements, detailed below.
