The Project generally consists of the installation of a new 450mm diameter gate valve to replace the failing Sluice Gate in the intake building, as well as the demolition of an existing concrete chamber and bypass line from the old chlorination building, and installation of a new fire hydrant. Scope of Work The scope of work generally includes but is not necessarily limited to all items on the Project Drawings and more particularly described in the MERX Schedule of Quantities and included in this section and any additional work as directed by the Engineer. General: o The mobilization of all labour, plant and materials to the project site. o The supply and installation of the Project Sign. o Maintain the water system to residents during construction. o Upgrading the intake building by installing a 450mm gate valve to replace the failing sluice gate in the building. o Supply and installation of approximately 16m of new water main and associated appurtenances. o Removal of the existing valve chamber, and piping, and replacing with a new section of watermain. o Installation of a new fire hydrant to further support fire protection services in the area. o All reinstatement and cleaning of properties as required. o The completion of all deficiencies as directed by the Engineer including final cleanup and demobilization from the project site.
