Floor Resurfacing Sloan Convention Center 1021 Wilkinson Trace The City of Bowling Green, KY is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for floor resurfacing in the back area of the Sloan Convention Center. The current floor has an existing epoxy coating that is deteriorating and poses safety concerns. Scope of Work Respondents shall complete the work as follows: 1. Surface Preparation Remove Existing Coating o Completely grind off all current epoxy coating using a diamond grinder o Ensure surface is clean, smooth, and free of contaminants before applying any new materials 2. Coating System Application Primer Coat o Apply an industrial-grade epoxy primer with high solids content o Allow for the coating to fully cure as per manufacturer specifications Top Coat o Once cured, apply a notch squeegee coat of 100% solids epoxy; incorporate anti-slip aggregate into this coat for improved safety and traction o Color to be selected and approved by the City after contract award 3. Work Phasing o This work shall be performed during regular business hours o Contractor shall complete the project in phased sections to ensure Convention Center operations are not disturbed o Coordination with facilities staff is required to plan phasing and minimum impact 4. Cleanup o Contractor shall clean and remove all debris and leftover materials from the job site daily and upon project completion 5. Site Inspection o Contractors shall verify the exact square footage of the resurfacing area during a mandatory walk-through prior to submitting a bid 6. Contingency Allowance o Each bid must include a $2,000 allowance o This allowance is to be used only with prior written approval from the City of Bowling Green The City of Bowling Green, Kentucky reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, and to select that bid which it determines to be in its best interest. Respondents are to submit their bid in a clearly marked sealed envelope. The clearly marked sealed envelope shall include the bid number and description listed above. Make sure the shipping envelope has bid number listed clearly on the outside as well. The City of Bowling Green, Kentucky is not responsible for the premature opening of, or the failure to open, a sealed bid not properly addressed or identified.
