Renovation of a mixed-use development in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is issuing solicitation 15B50525Q00000018 for the award of a firm fixed-price contract for the project entitled 24Z5AX8 - Emergency Repair Chiller #1 Powerhouse. The project consists of furnishing equipment and materials for the completion of the work. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Medical Center (FMC) Carswell, J Street Bld. 3000, Ft. Worth, TX. 76127 provides medical treatment and mental health services for female offenders. FMC intends to make a single award to a responsible entity that will provide/supply all necessary equipment and materials for Adaptive Frequency Drive repairs on Chiller #1. Chiller #1 is located at the Powerhouse Building 3001 at FMC Carswell. The following evaluating factors will be considered; past performance, price, technical specifications, delivery schedule when combined are equal. See the Statement of Work/Specifications attachment included with the solicitation posting for the complete requirements of the work. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between 100,000 and 250,000. ((NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) The NAICS code for this requirement is 334512 IMPORTANT: Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. In order to qualify for award, your business size metrics information entered in your SAM registration be less than or equal to the Standard specified above. Each offeror's SAM registration will be reviewed by the Government. All offerors are urged to double check their SAM registration and update as necessary, including the size metrics information. This is a 100 percent small business set-aside. You be registered in www.sam.gov as a small business for the applicable NAICS code (see FAR provision 52.219-1 in the Representations & Certifications section of your www.sam.gov registration). The applicable Wage Determination for this requirement is WD 2015-5231 Rev. No. 28 dated 12/23/2024. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. Chiller #1 is located at the Powerhouse Building 3001 at FMC Carswell. The contractor and his/her contracted workers shall have limited supervised contact with inmates confined to this facility. The Powerhouse Building was originally built in 1952. The Trane Centrifugal Chiller was installed in 2018. A comprehensive vibration analysis was performed revealing a failure of the tail thrust bearing. The Contractor will provide labor and materials to remove and replace one Adaptive Frequency Drive (AFD) Assembly for Trane Centravac Centrifugal Chiller #1. Contractor shall upgrade chiller unit controls. The contractor may salvage existing Centravac starter or drive components. Any reconfiguration of building power to work with new drive will be conducted by the contractor. The Contractor shall provide start-up and logging of the chiller.
