Each proposal must be accom-panied by a certified cashier's check or bid bond made payable to the Village of Menomonee Falls in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the maximum bid price as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proposed contract with-in ten (10) days after the award of the contract. In case the successful bidder fails to execute such contract and provide the required bonds and insurance certificate within the time specified, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Village as liquidated damages.
