Renovation of a mixed-use development in Cheraw, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Cost Range: $900,000 - $1,100,000 The Work generally consists of renovations to the Coulter-Long Alumni Association headquarters building, located at 300 2nd St, Cheraw, SC. Interior work includes but is not limited to demolition, structural repairs, a complete renovation and/or restoration of interior partitions, doors, and finishes, and exterior wall improvements (performed from the interior - existing structure and siding to remain). Exterior work includes but is not limited to wood stairs including renovations to a covered canopy, a sidewalk, and restoration of porch seating. Renovation of ca. 1921 historic building once home to the Coulter Academy the first school for African Americans in Chesterfield County, SC. The project will shore up foundation members in the crawlspace, fully renovate interior to preserve existing conditions, adding a 2nd means of egress from the 2nd floor, and converting the house to an education center with office space, restrooms, kitchen. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
