The City of Ames, Iowa (City) is seeking proposals from interested Service Contractors for a three-year Biosolid Disposal Operation contract. Contractors are invited to submit demonstrated competence and qualifications for providing these services. Written questions will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. CST on May 29, 2025. Said questions are to be submitted in online All proposals received after the deadline for submission of proposals as stated herein shall not be considered and shall be return to the late Contractor unopened. Contractor assumes all risk associated with delivery of their proposal prior to the specified time deadline. Proposal shall be made on the Proposal Form furnished in AmesBids. The City of Ames Purchasing Division is the only authorized source of proposal documents. Proposal documents obtained from any other source may have an incomplete set of documents. Contractors using proposal documents not obtained from the City of Ames Purchasing Division on AmesBids are advised to visit amesbids.ionwave.net to enable receipt of necessary addenda. Reproduction of these documents without the express permission of the City of Ames is prohibited. The general nature of the work of which proposals are requested is a Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) Three-Year Biosolids Disposal Operation Contract. Contract period to July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 with two (2) one year renewals. No Contractor may withdraw their proposal for at least sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving proposals. The prices quoted herein are exclusive of all taxes such as sales and use taxes. The City of Ames is exempt from the following taxes: State of Iowa Sales and Use Taxes by Certificate No. 85-499, and Manufacturer's Federal Excise Tax by Registration No. A-102678. After award of contract, work on this contract shall substantially completed no later than June 30, 2026. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provision grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
