Southern Union State Community College Health Science Building Roof Replacement & Building Envelope Waterproofing This project consists of removal of existing mod bit roof system and installation new rigid insulation and new mod bit roof system, replacement of the EIFS over the mod bit roof area and masonry wall repairs, sub-grade waterproofing at select locations, waterproofing the exterior masonry walls. Roof area approximately 11,949 SF. at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. PRE-QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE: Only Prime/Roofing Contractors, and Waterproofing Contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to prequalification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. Any person or firm wishing to apply for pre-qualification may obtain a copy of the Owner's Pre-Qualification Application requirements by emailing the Architect at admin@swa-consultants.com. Applications for pre- qualification must be received by the Architect by 12:00 PM on THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2025, after which no further applications will be considered. The Owner will complete the pre-qualification process and name the general contractors who are approved to bid the Project by 5:00 PM on THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2025. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Alabama Community College System in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site. The time and date will be announced to the pre-qualified General Contractors, Roofing Contractors, and Mechanical Contractors at the time of bid document distribution. Attendance is MANDATORY for all pre-qualified Prime/Roofing Contractors, and Waterproofing Contractors bidding this project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The Owner reserves the right to modify or abandon this pre- qualification process at any time prior to its completion should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby.
