NO BIDS ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE. The Township of Commercial reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Township of Commercial, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to Ms. Heather Miller, RMC, Township Clerk, Township of Commercial, 1768 Main Street, Port Norris, New Jersey 08349. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Township of Commercial in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. The award shall further be subjected to the securing of necessary State, Federal or Local permits governing the work. Every request for such interpretation should be made in writing, addressed to the Engineer, and to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the final date fixed for receiving bids. In general, the scope of work for this project shall consist of the resurfacing of Main Street (Cumberland County Route 553) from Strawberry Avenue to the municipal border (approximately 1.21 miles) in the Township of Commercial. In addition to resurfacing, the project will also include drainage improvements and traffic striping upgrades. In general, the scope of work for this project shall consist of site clearing; traffic control; milling of the existing asphalt to a depth of 4" or less, constructing a 2-inch thick hot mix asphalt intermediate course and a 1.5-inch thick hot mix asphalt surface course; the installation of new storm drainage structures, new storm drainage pipe, and associated trench restoration; the replacement of selective concrete driveway aprons; the installation of hot mix asphalt driveway aprons; the installation of various striping; site restoration; and all other work contained in the Plans and Specifications or directed by the Engineer. The work also includes traffic control, dust control, soil erosion control, cleaning and restoration. The contractor is responsible for the location of all utilities and for scheduling all work involved with utilities. Any cost related to their coordination shall be included in their proposal. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
