Firing Range Monument Sign - The St. Charles County Facilities Management Department is seeking bids to design, fabricate, and install a single-sided monument sign at the County Firing Range located at 1835 S. Hwy 94 Defiance, Mo 63341. The signage will adorn a St. Charles County Police Department emblem and lettering, "Sgt. John C. Bush Firearms Training Center". The County has a dedication ceremony planned on July 1st and the new sign will need to be in place for the dedication. Monument Sign Scope: The existing sign will be removed by the owner. Existing electric is onsite. Contractor to provide lighting requirements for signage. Owner to bring electric to sign for final termination by Contractor. Contractor shall submit drawings for permit, County to pay permit fees directly. Contractor to design footing & foundation. Proposals should include a recommendation for how the sign should be oriented upon the proposed property that will meet the intent of the goal of being visible from both lanes of traffic. Contractor to design and fabricate stone base and stone cap. 1. One natural stone clad rectangular base (min. 12" wide) with top cap installed over the sign. 2. Stone shall be dimensional natural limestone or equivalent, mortared to match. Contractor to design and fabricate signage 1. Sign shall be single sided. The badge and name shall be displayed on the signage, visible to (the roadway). 2. High Density Urethane (HDU) board signage or equivalent with raised lettering and badge emblem. 3. Approximately 10' sign span, 4' tall. 4. Left portion of sign shall be predominantly displayed and incorporate the St. Charles County Police Badge Emblem. 5. Right portion of signage shall be prominently displayed and read, "St. Charles County Police Department Sgt. John C. Bush Firearms Training Center." 6. The sign must be able to withstand heavy rain, hail, snow, intense sunlight and high winds and other hazardous weather conditions. 7. The monument sign must meet setbacks as established by the Missouri Department of Transportation. Contractor to design signage lighting. 1. Lighting shall be sign mounted or integrated. Sign must be visible and readable from the roadway. Lighting shall not be placed on grade or in the grass. 2. The proposal should include power requirements that will need to be supplied within five feet of the sign. Contractor to provide Installation. 1. Owner will provide footing/foundation based off Contractor design. 2. Contractor to fabricate and install stone base on top of County provided footing/foundation. 3. Contractor to fabricate and install signage with top cap. 4. Owner will provide electric to signage location based off lighting requirements. 5. Contractor shall terminate electrical wires to signage lighting. Alternate 1: Supply and install CMU block that matches the existing building in lieu of stone base.
