The Project includes replacement of two (2) air release valves on an existing 8-inch diameter sanitary sewage forcemain including the installation of one (1) doghouse manhole, restoration, and appurtenant Work. The scope of work consists of installation of 2 airrelease valves on an existing8-inch diameter PVC forcemain. At Location 1, work includes install of a new doghouse manhole adjacent to an existing air release valve (ARV) manhole, and install of a new ARV. A Location 2, the ARV shall be replaced within the existing ARV manhole. - The force main must remain in service and pressurized at all times during the ARV installation work. Installation shall be via hot tap method The Work includes the following detailed scope: 1. At Location 1, install a new air release valve and manhole adjacent to the existing air release valve manhole located in the apron of at 720 Jamison Road. In the adjacent lawn area /roadway shoulder, expose the existing force main first by using the vacuum truck (hydrovac) method to pothole the excavation at the force main. Excavate for install of doghouse manhole which is to be positioned over the existing force main and to avoid existing utilities. Protect/repair existing storm pipe/culvert, driveway apron, and re-grade drainage ditch as required to restore to existing conditions. Install a new tap to the existing 8-inch diameter sanitary sewerage force main (PVC) via the hot tap method. Install new isolation valve, air release valve, and doghouse manhole. All pipe fittings and valves shall be stainless steel. Note that the force main must remain in service and pressurized at all times during this work. The existing air release valve and manhole shall stay in place. 2. At Location 2, replace the existing air release valve within the existing precast manhole located on the shoulder of Milestrip Road, west of the intersection with Transit Road. Install a new tap to the existing 8-inch diameter force main (PVC) via the hot tap method. Install new isolation valve and air release valve. All pipe fittings and valves shall be stainless steel. Note that the force main must remain in service and pressurized at all times during this work. To abandon the existing air relief valve, close the existing isolation valve if operable. Under a scheduled and coordinated shutdown of the force main flows with approval of the Owner, remove existing air release valve, isolation valve and all appurtenances. Install 12-inch diameter stainless steel repair clamp provided by Owner to abandon old connection. 3. All maintenance and protection of traffic control including development of work zone traffic control plans, application for and secure of highway permits, and set up and maintenance of work zones and signage. Jamison Road (Location 1) and Milestrip Road (Location 2) are Erie County DPW roadways. Transit Road (at Location 2) is a NYSDOT roadway. 4. Restoration at both sites inclusive of lawn and roadway shoulder. Restore any damages to existing utilities, features, driveway aprons, and pavement, if required. There are two project locations- 720 Jamison Road in the Town of Elma and Milestrip Road west of Transit Road in the Town of Orchard Park.
