Site work for a civil project in Newport, Oregon. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Replace two seismically resilient tanks. Provide protection for Newport's drinking water supply. The increased capacity will allow for the removal of the City Shops tanks and Yaquina Heights tank in the future. Currently the water treatment plant stores treated drinking water in 2 one-million-gallon tanks. The ground beneath the tanks is settling and may lead to structural issues with the tanks in the future. This project will replace the two tanks with one four-million-gallon tank. This project is included in the city's 2024-2025 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of June 12, 2025, project is funded for FY2025-2026. Project status is scoping/design. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
