**As of July 10, 2025, the project was awarded to Blackhawk Construction, with an awarded amount of $549,615.91.** The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for Sioux City Mat Lab HVAC updates as per the attached Project Manual and Plans. The building will be occupied and used for normal business by the DOT staff. The staff will not be conducting normal work in the following rooms while HVAC updates are under construction: HMA lab 149, Concrete Lab 153, Shaker Room 155, and Aggregate Lab 156. Work consists of the following: Material Lab HVAC Updates (contractor to have possession of removed MAUs and exhaust fans): Remove and replacement of make-up air units serving the lab spaces Removal and replacement of 5 exhaust fans and revised controls for negative lab pressurization requirements. Addition of 1 new exhaust fan for negative lab pressurization requirements. Replacement of motorized dampers with insulated low leakage dampers. Addition of new exhaust hood over the manual splitter in shaker room to better control dust from current user operating practices. oRemoval and replacement of 3 VAV boxes to allow for additional heating capacity. Building envelope modifications to add spray foam insulation above the ceiling between the loading dock and HMA lab. The Iowa DOT bidding process is subject to the procedures and requirements established in Iowa Administrative Code 761--20.
