This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Cincinnati, Ohio. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The number of days allowed for completion of on-site work shall be determined on a per-project basis by the MSD Engineer. This specification covers the furnishing of equipment, fuel, and drivers for the purpose of hauling grit and screenings from the treatment facilities, and MSDGC drivers to haul and dispose the grit and screenings (including dewatered FOG) from MSDGC facilities. The grit is mostly inorganic material (sand, grit, gravel) that varies in size with limited organic material in the mix. The screenings are comprised of various trash that is removed from the wastewater. Examples include: stringy rag like, cloth, plastic wrappers, latex products, yard waste byproducts (sticks and leaves), plastics, and similar materials. In addition to grit and screenings, dewatered fats, oils, and greases (FOG) maybe added to the containers for disposal. Grit and screenings will be picked up at each of the listed facilities. They will be located in dumpsters or roll off containers that will need to be hauled, disposed of contents inside and returned. The Plant Supervisor, or designee, will make a notification that removal is needed. The plant supervisor may also set up a reoccurring collection schedule. Because of the nature of the material being hauled, consideration should be given to the route taken by the driver, such as rush hour traffic through the downtown area, and special events. Hauling of grit and screenings is normally conducted M-F 7:00am - 5:00pm. However, during wet weather additional hauling maybe needed to accommodate the influx of material into the plants. The plant supervisor, or designee, will make contact with the dispatching unit to arrange pickups. Trucks should have the capacity and capability to haul away large roll off containers and smaller 3-4 yard dumpsters that are full of grit and/or screening material. At some plants, these are combined, while other plants they are separated into different containers. The truck shall fit inside of the overhead doors at each facility. The contractor shall guarantee that the equipment shall be in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, OSHA, City laws, regulations, safety standards and safety requirements, etc. The tractor, trailer and payload shall not exceed the maximum capacity allowed and adhere to all Federal, State and Local Department of Transportation regulations. The City of Cincinnati will not pay for hauling of materials that are in violation of any law. The contractor and/or his operator shall be solely responsible for any damage to their truck as a result of operating under this specification.
