Renovation of a library in Northampton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 4,164-square-foot library.

The City of Northampton invites bids for the construction work associated with the Forbes Library HVAC and Childrens Department Renovation Project, located at 20 West Street, Northampton, MA. The project consists of HVAC system improvements and renovations to the childrens and staff areas on the lower level of Forbes Library, including replacement of lighting fixtures and construction of a new youth multi-purpose programming room. The estimated construction cost for the Base Bid is $1,294,564. The project includes four Additive Alternates that may be accepted at the City's discretion Alternate 1 - Renovation of Adolescent/Young Child Room & Shelving Upgrades Alternate 2 - Renovation of Wizard of Oz Room Alternate 3 - Lighting Upgrades in Children's Room and Basement Staff Areas Question Deadline 06/12/2025 at 4:00 PM ET All questions or requests for clarification regarding this Invitation for Bids must be submitted in writing via email to David Molnar at dmolnar@northamptonma.gov All inquiries regarding this Invitation for Bids (IFB), including requests for bid documents, should be directed to: David Molnar at dmolnar@northamptonma.gov HVAC Upgrades and Childrens Department Renovation at Forbes Library, an occupied municipal library building. The scope includes mechanical system improvements, interior renovations, lighting, and custom shelving installation. Work must comply with M.G.L. c. 149 requirements and includes filed sub-bids. Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000.
