Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for an educational facility in San Angelo, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.
**As of July 28, 2025, the project was awarded to Reese Albert Trucking, with an awarded amount of $311,600; and Building Abatement Demolition Company, Inc., with an awarded amount of $142,200.** Proposals for the abatement and demo of building A at Austin Elementary and the demo of building A at San Jacinto Elementary. Project Start Date: August 2025 The following shall be applicable to the San Jacinto Elementary School and associated items: A. The San Jacinto Elementary School building, in its entirety, shall be demolished, as marked on the site map. This includes all footings, slabs, sidewalks, retaining walls, steps, and all other concrete directly associated with the building. B. The basement walls shall be removed at a minimum depth of 3. The basement floor shall be busted or drilled for proper drainage. Backfill of the basement shall be in 8 lifts at 90%-95% compaction. C. Install a temporary 6 fence around the work site. D. All trees shall remain and be protected around the drip edge and wrapped with plywood. If any tree is to be removed due to demolition procedures, approval must be granted from San Angelo ISD prior to removal. E. Remove concrete pads, sidewalks, awnings, and retaining walls, as marked on the site map. F. The concrete awning shall be cut and removed in such a way that the adjacent building and concrete walkway beneath are not damaged. After the awning is cut, the edge shall be capped and finished with mortar for a clean finished edge. G. All sidewalks that are to remain shall be protected to prevent damage. H. All parking lots shall remain and not be damaged. I. All curbs and gutters associated with the parking lot shall remain. J. All manifest and load receipts shall be collected daily. All concrete that is taken to be reclaimed or disposed of at a location other than the landfill shall have documents stating location, number of loads, and documentation stating acceptance of materials. K. The contractor shall develop and implement a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). L. The contractor shall have a licensed HVAC company discharge all HVAC units. M. Provide a minimum of 6 deep layer of clean topsoil for backfill. N. All curbs and sidewalks along the street shall remain and not be damaged. O. After approval of grading and finished dirt work, the contractor shall seed with a seed mixture approved by the school district. P. The contractor is responsible for watering the area one time after seed broadcasting.
