Sealed bids are hereby solicited for construction of the Runway 31 Threshold Relocation project at the Blue Ridge Regional Airport. Improvements include demolition & removal, excavation and embankment construction, new airfield pavement (asphalt), traffic management, erosion and sediment control, stormwater improvements, and other ancillary work associated with the project. Ardurra Group is the only point through which information will be disseminated. Bid security must accompany each proposal in accordance with the Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after the opening thereof. The procedure specified under Section 2.2-4330(A) (i), VA Code Ann. shall apply The bidder shall give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two (2) business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure". The Blue Ridge Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding, and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the Authority The overall project anticipated start date is in August 2025 and entire project completion is anticipated by spring 2026. There will be one winter shutdown provided with an associated stoppage in contract time. The total contract time allowed to construct this project will be 150 consecutive calendar days. One winter shutdown is provided. The contract time is spread over two phases. Phase 1 covers work which impacts airport operations due to the need for a temporary runway threshold displacement. Phase 2 covers work outside of active runway and taxiway safety areas. Phase 1 has a completion milestone date of October 18, 2025 due to the need for the runway to be at full length for the October 26, 2025 NASCAR race at Martinsville Speedway.
