Mesa Drive and Avenida De La Plata (Base Scope) 2. Mesa Drive and College Boulevard (Bid Additive Alternates) Time is of the essence in the performance of work under this contract. All work in the Base Bid shall be completed in every detail to the satisfaction of the Engineer, exclusive of Maintenance Periods, within 20 working days after the commencement date outlined in the Notice to Proceed. If accepted, additional time to complete the alternative work will be added to the contract as noted in the Alternate Bid Schedules. The Liquidated Damages for failure of the CONTRACTOR to complete the work within the Contract Time set forth in the Notice to Proceed are in the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per consecutive day in excess of the contract time. The CONTRACTOR to whom the contract is awarded shall be required to possess a Class "A" General Contractor's License at the time the contract is awarded.
