The City of Corpus Christi ("City" or "Owner") hereby issues this request for bids ("RFB"). The City is seeking bids from firms interested and qualified in Mechanical/HVAC, Demolition, Structural & Door Installation, Carpentry/Framing. 1. A. (Alternate) Selective MEP Demolition of Existing Dehumidifiers o The City is seeking bids from firms interested in and qualified in Mechanical/HVAC, Demolition, Structural, door Installation, and Carpentry/Framing. o PROJECT DETAILS: o Scope: Replace two aging 1000-ton desiccant dehumidifiers. o Equipment: New units already purchased and scheduled for delivery by the City of Corpus Christi. o Installation Location: New mechanical room on the second floor (northwest corner), created by demolishing and merging a family restroom, storage room, janitorial room, and existing mechanical room . The work is to be substantially completed within 90 days. Estimate: 1,139,800.00 This project involves the replacement of Two (qty.2) 1000 Ton Desiccant Dehumidifiers that serve the American Bank Center Arena. The existing dehumidifiers are aging and not functioning properly. The City of Corpus Christi purchased and have scheduled the replacement equipment (the dehumidifier units) for delivery. The scope of work for this project involves the receipt, handling and installation of these units that the city has purchased. Replacement of the existing dehumidifiers at their current location creates complicated issues of access. Therefore, this project will relocate the new replacement dehumidifiers to a second-floor space of the American Bank Center, at the northwest corner of the building. This space will be created by demolishing an existing family restroom, a storage room and a janitorial room, and merging these spaces with an existing mechanical room to create a larger mechanical space. This newly created, larger mechanical room will accommodate the new equipment. In addition to the selective demolition and modifications to the proposed spaces, an existing air handling unit will have to be relocated within this space and improvements/modifications to fire rated walls and ceiling will be made. Structural penetrations will be made to the exterior walls of this space to accommodate large louvres for outside air for the dehumidifiers, an overhead door for access and another small louver for the relocated air handler. Other miscellaneous improvements and modifications will be required to existing ductwork, piping, and electrical. Finally, the project scope would include relocation of existing stage curtain, as requested by stakeholder. The demolition and decommissioning of existing dehumidifiers will be shown as an Alternate item and priced out separately. Special considerations of construction scheduling will be required related to coordination of construction activities and lay down areas with the American Bank Center operations and event schedule. The solicitation consists of a single base bid and one additive alternate.
