DESCRIPTIONS OF WORK A. Scope The work covered by this Division of these Specifications consist of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, appliances, and materials, and in performing all operations in connection with the mechanical work, including all items of special equipment specified herein, complete in strict accordance with this Division of these Specifications and the applicable Drawings. B. Work Included: The work involves a complete mechanical system. Generally the work includes, but is not limited to the following items. Complete heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. Question Deadline 06/30/2025 Each Bidder shall examine the bidding documents carefully and, not later than seven (7) days prior to date of receipt of bids. All written proposals must be on file with the Stone County Board of Supervisors prior to the opening time as stated above. All proposals must be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of the envelope with the contractor's COR number and indicated for "Stone County Correctional Facility Ventilation Alterations, not to be opened until July 7, 2025." Envelopes not so marked are submitted at the risk of the Bidder and the Stone County Board of Supervisors assumes no responsibility for the premature opening of same by any county/city employee. Single stipulated sum bids will be received for all work required by the Contract Documents in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required from the successful bidder. Bidders shall comply with law of the State of Mississippi requiring Certificate of Responsibility. Resident contractors shall, in accordance with laws of the State of Mississippi, be granted preference over non-residents in the award of this contract in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the non-resident. A non-resident contractor shall attach to his proposal a copy of his resident state's current law pertaining to such state's treatment of non-resident contractors. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
