This Scope of Work defines the requirements for the removal and replacement of asphalt pavement at the premises located at 3500 Wolfedale Road. The project encompasses an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. The existing asphalt surface has deteriorated due to structural failure, primarily attributed to the high volume of heavy vehicle traffic. The scope includes complete removal of the existing asphalt, sub-base preparation, and installation of a new asphalt surface incorporating fiber-reinforced materials to enhance long-term durability and performance. A. Demolition and Removal Perform full depth saw cutting and removal of the existing asphalt surface, estimated to range between 100 mm and 150 mm in thickness. B. Sub-base Preparation Supply and place 1/2" crushed stone as required to establish proper drainage and achieve desired grading. Grade and compact the granular base to meet the specified standards in preparation for paving. C. Asphalt Supply and Installation Supply and install 75 mm (3") of HL8 base course asphalt. Supply and install 75 mm (3") of HL3 surface course asphalt. All asphalt mixtures shall be hot-mix and include fiber reinforcement where applicable, to improve structural performance and provide increased resistance to rutting and cracking caused by heavy traffic loads.
