Another amendment will be issued in the future to re-establish a new date for receipt of bids and bid opening.** The scope of work for the Cedar Rapids Flood Risk Management Project, Reach 4 Phase 1 Downstream River Floodwall and Pump Station includes site demolition such as pavement, levee, and utility removal, as well as plugging of abandoned utilities. It involves temporary traffic controls, clearing, grubbing, and stripping. Construction activities include rigid and flexible pavements with concrete curb and gutter, utility installations including water main, storm sewer, and manholes, and earthwork such as structural excavation and impervious embankment fill. Additional components include sheet pile installation, cast-in-place concrete floodwalls, gatewells, retaining walls, geotechnical instrumentation, vibration monitoring, relief wells, toe drains, cleanouts, aggregate and riprap placement, and installation of chain link fencing, access gates, safety rails, and bollards. Site restoration will include brick pavers, topsoil, and seeding.
