Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Richardson, Texas. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
RFP - The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics has identified a laboratory space within Berkner Hall that requires expansion and enhancement to support ongoing research initiatives. The proposed lab must accommodate a minimum of eight (8) fume hoods, space for eight (8) high-temperature ovens, and maximize available bench space. Additionally, a dedicated workspace is required to support multiple Graduate Assistants. To meet faculty research needs, the lab must also include infrastructure to manifold multiple toxic gases from an existing gas bunker located on the lower level of Berkner Hall. The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a qualified contractor to deliver all components as specified in the construction documents, ensuring full compliance with the outlined technical and safety requirements. Note: Attending the PRE-PROPOSAL/SITE VISIT is MANDATORY for this opportunity. Question Deadline 06/11/2025 at 2:00 PM CT A. Multi-layered product applied to interior glass surfaces, consisting of from outboard surface to inboard surface: 1. Removable release liner. 2. CDF adhesive. 3. Clear or dyed ultraviolet absorbing layer of polyester film. 4. Single or multiple layers of metallized or sputtered polyester film. 5. Laminating adhesive. 6. Scratch resistant coating. B. Color: Neutral. A. Furnish and install a complete system for the control of lighting and other equipment as indicated on the plans, detailed in the manufacturer submittal, and as further defined herein. Contractor is solely responsible to verify quantity, installation locations and wiring requirements for this project. Specific manufacturer's catalog numbers, when listed in this section are for reference only. It is the responsibility of the contractor to verify with lighting control manufacturer all catalog information and specific product acceptability. B. The system shall include but not be limited by the following list: Pre-wired, microprocessor controlled with latching relays controlled via a complete list of communication based accessories including digital switches, Occupancy sensors and other devices. The type of lighting control equipment and wiring specified in this section is covered by the description: Microprocessor Controlled Digital Lighting Control system with RS 485 Bus communications. Requirements are indicated elsewhere in these specifications for work including, but not limited to, raceways and electrical boxes and fittings required for installation of control equipment and wiring. C. Contactor shall extend all 120v and/or 277v circuits to miscellaneous lighting control system components as detailed in lighting controls submittal from manufacturer. Furnish and install all labor, materials, equipment tools and service and perform all operations required in connection with or properly incidental to the construction of complete system of vibration and noise control, as indicated on the Drawings, reasonably implied therefrom or as specified herein, unless specifically excluded. A. Testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of the air conditioning systems and related ancillary equipment will be performed by an impartial technically qualified TAB firm selected and employed directly by the Owner, separate and apart from the Construction Contract. However, the preparation for and corrections necessary for the Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of these systems, as described herein, are the responsibility of the Contractor. B. As a part of this project Construction Contract, the Contractor shall make any changes or replacements to the sheaves, belts, dampers, valves, etc. required for correct balance as advised by the TAB firm, at no additional cost to the Owner. C. The Contractor shall provide and coordinate the services of qualified, responsible Subcontractors, suppliers and personnel as required to correct, repair, and/or replace any and all deficient items or conditions found during the course of this project, including the testing, adjusting and balancing period. D. In order that all systems may be properly tested, balanced, and adjusted as required herein by these Specifications, the Contractor shall operate said systems at his expense for the length of time necessary to properly verify their completion and readiness for TAB. This length of time shall be subject to the approval of the Construction Inspector. E. Project Contract completion schedules shall allow for sufficient time to permit the completion of TAB services prior to Owner occupancy. The contractor shall allow adequate time for the testing and balancing activities of the owner provided services, during the construction period, and prior to Substantial Completion as defined in the Uniform General Conditions of this Construction Document. F. The Drawings and Specifications indicate valves, dampers and miscellaneous adjustment devices for the purpose of adjustment to obtain optimum operating conditions, and it will be the responsibility of the Contractor to install these devices in a manner that will leave them accessible and readily adjustable. Should any such device not be readily accessible, the Contractor shall provide access as requested by the TAB firm. Also, any malfunction encountered by TAB personnel and reported to the Contractor or the Construction Inspector shall be corrected by the Contractor immediately so that the balancing work can proceed with the minimum of delays. Furnish and install all labor, materials, equipment, tools and services and perform all operations required in connection with, or properly incidental to, the construction of complete HVAC piping and accessories systems as indicated on the Drawings, reasonably implied therefrom, or as specified herein unless specifically excluded. A. This section establishes a communications infrastructure to be used as signal pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission. Contractor shall: 1. Comply with all Master Specifications documents and the following requirements for a complete project installation. 2. Provide a structured cabling system as described hereafter that includes, but is not limited to, supplying, installing and testing of: fiber backbone, fiber and voice riser cable; data copper, fiber, and voice copper horizontal cabling, cable connectors, communications outlets and terminations, and equipment racks/cabinets for networking hardware and patch panels. 3. Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and services for the installation described herein. Provide add/deduct unit pricing for all components as part of the bid response. All requirements and specifications will be enforced. Cable pathways and runs to individual outlets are not shown in their entirety but shall be provided as if shown in their entirety. 4. Coordinate with electrical tradespersons to verify conduit routing does not cause cabling to exceed specified electrical length. 5. Follow industry standard installation procedures for communications cable to assure that the mechanical and electrical transmission characteristics of this cable plant and equipment are maintained. B. Work of this section covers a complete installation of both permanent and channel links for a data and voice communications network utilizing copper and fiber transmission media that includes but is not limited to the following. The Contractor shall: 1. Provide and install fabric and/or either plenum, PE or PVC Innerduct, rated appropriately for the installation environment. 2. Provide, install, terminate, test, and document all fiber backbone, fiber and copper riser cable. 3. Provide, install, terminate, test, and document all fiber, copper voice, and data horizontal cable. 4. Provide and place all termination devices such as, but not limited to, modular patch panels, termination blocks, information outlets (jacks and plates), phone jacks, fiber distribution panels, bulkheads, connectors, and fiber fan out kits. 5. Provide in quantities specified interconnect components such as, but not limited to, copper patch cords, fiber patch cables and data station cables. 6. Provide and place horizontal and vertical cable support devices such as, but not limited to, rack and wall-mounted horizontal and vertical cable management, cable runway, telecommunications cable runway, and all required mounting hardware, unless otherwise noted. 7. Provide and install all equipment mounting racks, cabinets and/or brackets. 8. Provide and install UL-approved firestopping systems in all communication pass-throughs, conduits and cable trays, and ceiling, wall and floor penetrations in coordination with General Contractor. 9. Provide all appropriate consumable items required to complete the installation. 10. Grounding and bonding in MC and TR rooms to grounding bus provided by Division 26. 11. Provide complete documentation and demonstration of work. 12. Completion of all punch list deficiencies within 10 working days. 13. Provide indexed and organized complete Test Results of all copper and fiber cable and their components. 14. Provide Submittals as outlined below. 15. Conduct a final document handover meeting with client, consultant, and PM to review, discuss and educate the Owner on the test results and As-Built Drawings. 16. Provide a Manufacturer's Extended Product Warranty and System Assurance Warranty for this wiring system.
