Metrolinx is issuing this Request to be Prequalified to establish a Prequalification for Demolition Services by Indigenous Owned Businesses. The objective of this Request to be Prequalified (Stage 1) is to develop a Prequalified List of Contractors, with the necessary experience, qualifications and resource availability to provide the Work to be issued via the Stage 2 procurement process. Metrolinx requires a Contractor to provide building demolitions to support Metrolinx in the delivery of its infrastructure projects. The Contractor shall be familiar, knowledgeable and have experience in all aspects of demolishing residential, commercial and industrial structures in a heavily urbanized environment. The Work includes, but is not limited to: I. demolition of numerous property types, such as: single- and multi-storey residential buildings, commercial and industrial structures (i.e. warehouses, gas station facilities, car washes, etc.) and associated above and underground services; II. removal and disposal of all demolished materials; III. removal of hazardous, contaminated or dangerous materials from site, including asbestos and asbestos containing materials, and dispose of in safe manner; IV. salvage of heritage attributes; V. site restoration, including filling and compacting of excavated areas with granular material as well as over all site grading to minimize public and environmental impacts; VI. provision of metal wire fencing to secure site after demolition; VII. acquisition of applicable municipal and provincial permits and approvals; VIII. disconnection and capping of mechanical, water/sewer, electrical, fuel, communication and other services; IX. ensuring work is performed in compliance with authorities having jurisdiction and all applicable provincial and federal regulation; Question Acceptance Deadline: 02-Jul-2025 04:00:00 PM EDT Official bid documents must be obtained from www.metrolinx.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
