Question Deadline 07/03/2025 All questions related to this proposed Contract, pre-bid presentation, site tour (if offered) or interested bidders list must be directed in writing to Nathan Churchill, at nchurchill@mmsd.com, no later than 7 days before the bid opening date. A site tour will be held at the project site at 9:00 a.m. on July 17th, 2025. The project contemplated consists ofreplacement offive large-diameter magnetic flow meters and associated equipment. The equipment is located in two separate buildings ofthe Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility (JIWRF): the Influent Flow Meter Vault (Building 204) and the Disinfection Flow Meter Vault (Building 245). Additionally, the project consists ofreplacing flexible pipe couplings, replacing 84" butterfly valves with spool pieces, removing four unused chlorine dosing pipes, adding reinforcing steel to support existing foot traffic platforms, removing four concrete meter supports, and installing four new concrete pipe supports. The Contract consists ofthe following work in general. Influent Flow Meter Vault (Building 204) Excavate concrete hatch ofvault (gravel and asphalt removal), relocate hatch to gain crane access. Complete lead paint abatement ofthree pipelines in vault wall-to-wall. Remove three magnetic flow meters (two 72-inch and one 90-inch). Remove nine flexible couplings (six 72-inch and three 90-inch). Remove three existing magnetic flow meter signal transmitters from the Preliminary Treatment Facility (Building 203). Replace all fastening hardware (nuts and bolts) of all flanges in all three pipelines. Furnish and install three magnetic flow meters (two 72-inch and one 90-inch). Furnish and install nine flexible couplings (six 72-inch and three 90-inch). Furnish and install three magnetic flow meter signal transmitters in the Influent Flow Meter Vault. Surface prep and coat all three pipelines in vault wall-to-wall. Manufacturer training, startup, functional acceptance testing, and operational acceptance testing of each new flow meter system. Reseal vault with existing concrete access hatch, apply thermal/moisture protection, cover hatch with backfill, and lay asphalt as originally positioned. Replace five large diameter flow meters and other inline flow elements in two underground vaults at Jones Island. Scope also includes lead paint abatement and recoating. Long lead times are anticipated for flow meters; 6-9 months. Work will take place in critical plant process areas, will be restricted to winter months and may require two winters to complete.
