The City of Maple Ridge (the “City”) is seeking to pre-qualify Prime Contractors for the construction of approximately 1300m of sanitary mains and 600m of stormwater mains below Dewdney Trunk Road, 228 Street, and 119 Avenue in the City of Maple Ridge, BC, and for future sanitary and stormwater construction projects. Through this Request for Qualifications the City wishes to identify general contractors experienced and qualified to construct/upgrade sanitary and stormwater mains. The City’s intent is to create a shortlist of qualified contractors and subsequently invite only these respondents to submit firm-priced tenders for the work. The following description is intended to provide respondents with an understanding of the nature of project for which firm-priced tenders will be sought. The scope of the project is not final. There may be changes, significant or minor. The project will consist of the replacement of approximately 1300m of sanitary mains (up to 300mm diameter) and 600m of stormwater mains (up to 675mm in diameter). The project will include 350m of construction on Dewdney Trunk Road which is a major traffic corridor consisting of two travel lanes in each direction. This portion of the project will require significant traffic management and may be predominantly night work. Furthermore, Dewdney Trunk Road is heavily congested with existing utilities both above and below ground. The project also includes construction on 228 Street which is a collector road within a residential area. Draft drawings are provided in Appendix A for reference. Note that the City will provide guidance on acceptable traffic impacts and conceptual Traffic Management Plans as part of the future tender documents. The work will generally involve: Implementing and maintaining traffic control measures Supplying and installing sanitary mains, stormwater mains, and manholes including excavation and backfill Temporary bypass pumping of sanitary and/or stormwater systems Installation and/or reconnections of sanitary and stormwater service connections, complete with inspection chambers Abandonment of existing pipe and manholes Asphalt paving and pavement markings Video inspections (CCTV) of newly installed pipe Night work for Dewdney Trunk Road Documents can be obtained from https://mapleridge.bidsandtenders.ca/ Question Deadline 05/05/2026 at 12:00 PM PT
