Reference Number 0000388809 The Town of Parachute (hereinafter referred to as "Town") is seeking proposals from firms (hereinafter referred to as "Proposer" or "Consultant") to provide consulting services as outlined in this document for the 1st Street Final Design (phase 3B) of the Town's Downtown Development Plan. The project will include design of roadways, streetscape, utility, storm sewer, lighting, pedestrian, landscaping, and other improvements to 1st Street in the Town of Parachute. Preliminary design plans (30% submittal) have already been completed. The Project Area is generally defined as the 1st Street / U.S. Highway 6 Street Corridor from Russey Avenue to and including the intersection with CR 215. The roadway is almost entirely CDOT right of way and has served as the historic downtown area of Parachute. Currently, the street is approximately 100' wide, with two driving lanes, center left turn lane, bike lanes, parallel parking lanes, and narrow sidewalks of varying widths. The CDOT / Town of Parachute Rest Area is situated near the east entrance of the downtown corridor, and a pedestrian bridge connecting to Cardinal Way over I-70 is located at the west end of the corridor. The street front is currently checkered with a mix of existing businesses, residences, offices, a small park, vacant lots, and several vacant buildings. The following map is a general outline of the project area, and it is provided for context only. Certain project elements, such as monuments, signs, and landscaping, may fall outside of this boundary.
