Cedar Ave. Tulare, California 93274 Tulare City Elementary School District (hereinafter referred to as "Owner") will receive sealed bids prior to the date and time stated for the bid opening for the award of a contract to construct the NEW PLAYGROUNDS & SHADE STRUCTURES AT LINCOLN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TULARE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT, TULARE, CA A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Alterations to existing toilet rooms as indicated on Drawings in order to accommodate accessibility compliance. 2. Installation of two Owner furnished 30 ft by 40 ft shade structures, DSA PC approved. 3. Installation of Owner furnished play equipment. 4. Wood fiber playground surfacing including over excavation drainage piping, and drywell. 5. Concrete flatwork. 6. Chain link fencing and gates. B. Type of Contract: Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. This Contract is not subject to prequalification pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.6. The Contract Time shall be Seventy (70) calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay shall accrue. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid and made payable to the Owner, as detailed in the Contract Documents. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum In accordance with Section 3300 of said Code, the bidder shall have a Class "B" license at the time of award and shall maintain that license in good standing through Completion of the Contract and all applicable warranty periods. The Work shall be conducted in two phases, with each phase substantially complete as indicated: 1. Phase One: Phase One includes all work outside of the playground areas including but not limited to toilet room alterations, site fence and gate alterations, site flatwork outside of the playground areas. 2. Phase Two: Phase Two includes all work associated with the playground areas including but not limited to wood fiber playground surfacing, installation of shade structures, installation of playground equipment, playground drainage and site flatwork and curbs at playgrounds.
