Water Meter Replacement Project INTRODUCTION: The Town of Fort Myers Beach (the TOWN) plans to replace and standardize all water meters to a Single Meter Encoder-Receiver-Transmitter (ERT) combination. The combination meter will allow the Town to collect meter readings remotely and upload the data through the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system. The AIM System will improve accuracy and efficiencies in the water meter readings collections, health monitoring and leak detection. The requirements for the Water Meter Replacement project also includes, but is not limited to, the repairing or replacing of the water meter box replacement, removal of existing water meters and boxes, maintenance of traffic, trench/roadway restoration, site restoration, and all the other appurtenances necessary to complete the project. The Town currently uses two sizes of meters: 5/8 inches and 1 inch. During the course of the project, Bidder will be required to work and coordinate with multiple departments within the Town to ensure smooth process and accuracy in reporting and documentation. Coordination with the Customer Service Department is critical to ensure that sectors of the Town (cycle route) are not being read on or billed at the same time as meter exchanges. Coordination with the Water Department is needed in the process of receiving a snapshot of all water meters in the Town. All work performed shall follow all Federal, State, Local, OSHA and department mandated regulations and specifications for associated work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK AND LOCATIONS The description of the Work is detailed in the Technical Specifications. For the locations of the work areas in the Town, the Customer Service Department will assist when awarded. The project is the residential area. The CONTRACTOR agrees to perform all the work necessary to complete all items listed below. The OWNER has the right to accept or reject any or all part of a submitted bid. This project requires the Contractor to be licensed and insured in the State of Florida. The TOWN will require a Bid Bond on this project.
