West water tower. Documents can be obtained from https://ontariotenders.app.jaggaer.com The scope of services for this RFB is as follows: Tank: Pressure wash interior and cleanout of wash water and accumulated sediment from the water tower floor. - Supply and installation of new tank floor hatch gasket if opening of the hatch is required by the contractor. Cathodic Protection System: - Design, supply and install an impressed current cathodic protection system for a steel spheroid water tower. Altitude and Isolation Valves: Design, supply, install and commission of 400mm full port altitude valve with limit switch, upstream and downstream isolation valves, and pipework modifications and/or replacement deemed necessary by the Designer. All equipment to be AWWA rated and NSF 61 certified. Stamped engineered drawings are required by a professional engineer licensed in Ontario. Acceptable altitude valve makes are Cla-Val, Singer, or equivalent. Support of suspended pipe column when the existing altitude valve is removed for replacement is the Bidder's responsibility. The Contractor shall show the proposed support details in the stamped engineering drawings as part of the shop drawing process. The drawing shall be reviewed by the project manager before the removal commences. The altitude valve must be serviceable in situ whenever required in the future. Removal and installation of existing pressure transducers equipment into the new pipework. A water sample tap with isolation valve is required within the valve chamber. All modifications of, and restorations to, the heated valve chamber, that are required by the bidder or their subcontractors to perform the necessary valve replacements, are the responsibility of the Bidder. General: - Successful Bidder is required to obtain all necessary Electrical Safety Authority permits. Shop drawings of equipment and all pipe changes are to be submitted to OCWA for review and approval before works begins. Training on the altitude valve and corrosion protection system are to be provided to OCWA staff. OCWA will require one week notice to begin draining the water tower. It will take OCWA approximately seven days to drain the tower. A tote for water storage, or other suitable means of water storage, will be required at the water tower for the sediment removal/cleanout activities. Alternatively, water is available at the nearest hydrant on River Road West. Disinfection of the tank and pipework is the Bidder's responsibility. OCWA can provide the contractor with 12% NSF 60 sodium hypochlorite for disinfection. The Contractor shall provide a disinfection plan for review by the project manager beforehand. OCWA will be responsible for the collection and analysis of bacteriological samples. The water tower cannot be taken out of service during seasonal high demand periods. Draining and work on the tank is to occur after September 2, 2025, refer to project schedule.
