Renovation of a municipal facility in Leavenworth, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 42,598-square-foot municipal facility.

The Work to be performed under the provisions of these documents and the Plans and Specifications consists of the furnishing of all materials, equipment, tools and plant, the performance of all necessary labor and the construction, installation and completion of all work required in connection with the construction of Justice Center Carpet Leavenworth County. The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, but the County of Leavenworth reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in bids. Masonry repair including replacement of terra cotta cornice and frieze, repair of stone parapet, porches, and other miscellaneous stone repair on the facade as noted in drawings. Includes replacement of copper roofing at north and south portico, copper replacement of metal caps at parapets, replacement of gutters and downspouts. This building is listed on the national register of historic places. Any work undertaken by this project will comply with the secretary of the interior's standards for the treatment of historic properties. Alternate #1 - Base bid: replacement of terra cotta with in-kind replacement terra cotta units. Alternate: replacement of terra cotta units with gfrc replication units which appear identical to the historic appearance of the existing terra cotta. Include steel framing specific to gfrc assembly and associated engineering. Alternate #2 - Base bid: replace copper roofing at porticos in-kind with copper roofing to match existing. Alternate: replace copper roofing at porticos with snap-on standing seam batten metal roofing system. 24 gauge steel with custom finish to match historic copper patina. Alternate #3 - Base bid: replace sheet metal coping, wall metal and flashing over projecting course with copper. Alternate: replace existing steel coping, wall metal and flashing with steel replacements. Contractors will be notified of the results within 10 days after the date set above for the bids to be opened. The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, but the County of Leavenworth reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in bids.
