A Pre-Bid Conference will not be held for this IFB. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: From date of award through a one (1) year with two (2) optional one -year renewal periods. Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Robert Dowdle at Robert.Dowdle@vdot.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM EDT on June 17, 2025. A. Project Scope The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) intends to enter into a contract with a qualified firm to provide corrective maintenance services and technology upgrades on an on call as needed basis. The upgrades or changes (e.g. corrective maintenance) to existing signalized intersections may include the following: 1. Replacement, modification, upgrade, removal or additions at existing signalized intersections; 2. Replacement, modifications, upgrade, removal or additions of communications between signalized intersections; and, 3. Replacement, modification, upgrade, removal or additions at existing roadway, highway, parkn-ride, and sign lighting. The purpose of this request is to acquire services for Traffic Engineering Maintenance work. Services requested are to include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintenance of Traffic Signals; Installation and Removal of Conductor Cable; Installation, Removal, and Relocation of Junction Boxes; Erosion & Sediment Control Measures; Work in Controller Cabinet; Reconstructing Test Hole areas; Sign Installation; Foundation Installation; Flashing Beacon Installation and Reinstallation; Flasher Installation; Electrical Service Connection; Installation of Traffic Signal Heads, temp wooden poles, Hanger Assemblies, Conductor Cable, etc.; Installation of Pedestrian Accommodations; Installation of Trenched and Bored Conduit; Test Bores; etc. The Contractor shall be required to provide extensive cooperation with the VDOT District Signal Supervisor (DSS) or designee. The Contractor shall provide a single point of contact available to VDOT personnel who will be responsible for dispatching the appropriate resources as defined in Section D. Staffing to ensure compliance with the requirements and reporting back to VDOT the activities performed. It is important to note that some tasks or project requirements have not been funded. Therefore, tasks or project scope identified may not be executed during the contract term. Project costs will also determine the final selection of tasks for completion. It may be necessary to add / subtract and modify the project requirements as further needs are identified.
