Renovation of an educational facility in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Bethlehem Center School District of Pennsylvania, requests bids for the Renovation of the existing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems at Bethlehem-Center Elementary School, Fredericktown, PA. This project will be a mechanical prime contract beginning in July 2025. The tentative project start date is July 15th. The work will be phased to be completed in180 days, concurrent with the operation of the school. Please email confirmation to sweanys@bcasd.net or fax to 724-267-4904. If you have any questions please call 724-267-4915. All questions related to the project will be directed, in writing, to procurement@bcasd.net. By submission of a Bid, the Bidder understands and acknowledges that the Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid, or bids, and to reject any or all bids in whole or in part; to reject a bid not accompanied by the required bid security or by other data required by the Bidding Documents; to reject any condition of the bid by the Bidder that is in any way inconsistent with the requirements, terms and conditions of the Bidding Documents; or to reject a bid that is in any way incomplete or irregular. Withdrawing a bid for any reason will result in forfeiture of the bid bond. All bids are subject to final approval by the District School Board. In order to expedite the acquisition of the equipment, which require what is assumed to be a long lead-time, Contractor will provide all necessary submittals for review within thirty (30) days after award of the Contract. The Owner will retain occupancy of the building during performance of the work. The contractor will have 180 days to complete the work. If circumstances beyond the contractor's control affect schedule, the Owner will entertain a time extension provided the contractor is deemed diligent in the pursuit of the work to date. The project work is expected to be initiated such that much of the "get ahead" work (as examples: gas piping, electrical modifications, new control buss installation, demolition where possible, controls) is performed while waiting on equipment. Waiting to start the work when all the equipment arrives is not an acceptable method of scheduling the work. This "get ahead" method will prep as much as possible for the air handling equipment change out. The contractor and the warranty roofing subcontractor will coordinate on the installation of the roof curbs and AHUs. The change out will be coordinated with the Owner. The change out will be sequential once started and will be coordinated with the Owner. No crane lifts may be done over a section of the building which is occupied. The Contractor will make all possible effort to schedule lifts on non-instruction days or holidays, coupled to weekend work to complete the installation of lifted units. The contractor should not assume that all units can be set during one crane event and needs to consider hour to accomplish the work in the preparation of their bid. The Owner will work with the contractor, as practical, to accomplish the work. Work Hours: During school hours, 7AM - 3PM, the contractor may work in areas of the building which are not affected by such work. Contractor my work evenings, nights, and weekends at their discretion. No change orders will be entertained for off-hours work.
