Due to the proposed relocation of the City's Utility Headquarters and future relocation of the Field Services Headquarters to the Headid Park and Ball Fields, located at 2404 Hawkeye, there is a need to start planning for the relocation of the park and baseball fields. A proposed site is under consideration; however, the site won't be discussed until the property has been acquired by the City. Headid Little League leadership will be involved in the planning throughout the process. The proposed relocation of the baseball fields would support the relocation of City facilities and the ballpark to more conducive City-owned properties. Staff's recommendation and estimates are based on an understanding that the main considerations are to provide a location that supports the requirements to play the game by identify a location and constructing a viable facility the Headid Little League Association can operate and maintain. The project is included in the City 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
