As of September 30, 2025, the project is preparing to begin design. A construction manager has been selected. Construction is expected to begin in the foruth quarter of 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Program Management Services for Project No. J-445-PM, Space Science / Robotics Facility, Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia. The proposed project is a new 36K GSF building on CSU's main campus to integrate CCSSC that is currently located in a 21K GSF building in downtown Columbus and CSURE's program now housed in the 6K GSF Lenoir Annex building. The new facility will be located on the site of single story Turner I/II complex across an existing parking lot from the Turner Continuing Education Center. The project includes the demolition of Turner I/II (9,364 GSF) and the 23,688 GSF Health and Wellness Center. However, the cost for the demolition is not part of the Stated Cost Limitation The new facility will provide for the integration of critical robotics engineering, advanced manufacturing, and space science disciplines and provide a hub for advanced technology. The location is also beneficial due to the ability to share existing parking and blend event space programming with the Turner Continuing Education Center The total project budget is estimated at $22,200,000. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost is of the Project is estimated at $16,250,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances.| The Program Management Base Fee will be approximately $275,000 which includes Phase I (Predesign) and Phase II (Preconstruction) services. The shortlisted Program Management firms are required to submit a fee proposal prior to scheduled Finalist Interviews. The fee structure for program management services will be agreed upon by the Owner and the Program Manager prior to the start of program management services The Design Professional's services are anticipated to commence by Summer, 2025 with construction documents anticipated for completion in Summer/Fall, 2026.
