The Town of Davie is soliciting bids from qualified licensed General Contractors to complete the Driftwood Park Improvement Projects Specified herein. The Park address is 3300 NW 77th Avenue, Davie, FL 33024. The park is located within the municipal boundary of the Town of Davie. Testing and Surveying. Removal and disposal of existing playground structures (2) and swing sets (To be coordinated with Town prior to removal and disposal as some parts will be saved and stored by the Town for future repairs at other playground locations. The Town will transport any desired parts to a storage location). Removal and disposal of curbing around the playground structure as shown in the drawings. Removal and disposal of all curbing around existing fitness stations. Removal and disposal of existing outdoor fitness equipment (To be coordinated with Town prior to removal and disposal as some parts will be saved and stored by the Town for future repairs at other locations. The Town will transport any desired parts to a storage location). Supply and install new playground and fall surfacing per the bid specifications. Supply and install new shade structure per the contract documents. Supply and install new fitness stations per the contract documents. The existing shade canopy is to remain. The existing concrete subbase and border is to partially remain per the bid specifications. Contractor responsible to install D curbing using 3,000 psi concrete to extend existing playground per the contract documents. Dewatering to include any required permits i.e. South Florida Water Management District. Pour in place concrete slab and curbing as required to include concrete pump as it may be needed to reach project areas. Protect project area with minimum four (4) feet temporary chain link fence around the entire work site. Proper construction site warning signs shall be installed. PLAYGROUND SPECIFICATIONS The selected contractor shall install the playground equipment in accordance to the layout shown in Exhibit. Equipment layout may be changed due to existing site conditions during construction with Town approval. Remove existing playground structure and dispose of the material at a landfill facility with the ability to handle such materials. Remove and dispose existing pour-in-place rubber fall surfacing without removing the concrete subsurface. Patch concrete subsurface as needed following the removal of existing equipment. Remove and dispose existing engineered wood fiber. Regrade and compact rock base to a minimum of 98% density where the engineered wood fiber is to match the elevation of the existing concrete pad. Remove and dispose only the existing concrete border on the western side of the playground and extend the border to the footprint of the existing shade canopy. Approximately total square footage of the footprint will increase from 4,170 sq ft to 4,620 sq ft. Install Type D concrete curbing, recessed to be flush with the existing border and grass. Cut existing slab as needed for installation of new equipment. Pour foundations to match elevation of existing slab. Furnish and install prefabricate playground equipment from GameTime c/o Dominica Recreation Products, Inc. or a Town approved equal (request for approve equal shall be submitted and approved by the Town prior to the bid opening; otherwise, the bid will not be considered). Installation must meet all requirements per manufacture specifications and installer must be certified to install the specified equipment to maintain warranty. FITNESS STATION SPECIFICATIONS The selected contractor shall install fitness stations equipment within the designated area shown in Exhibit. Equipment layout and placement will be determined and approved by the Town prior to installation. Remove existing fitness equipment and dispose of the material at a landfill facility with the ability to handle such materials. Remove and dispose existing engineered wood fiber without removing the border. Pour approximately 2,000 sq ft 6" concrete slab with fiber mesh additive. New concrete base shall be flush with existing walkways. Complete the top of the slab with a light broom finish. Saw cut the slab every 10' in both directions to account for expansion. Supply and install six (6) outdoor fitness stations manufactured by Greenfields Outdoor Fitness.
