Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a detention facility in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Completed plans call for the addition of a detention facility; for the demolition of a detention facility; for the renovation of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.

As of November 2025, this project has not yet started. The project is expected to start construction 2026. Bids have not yet been solicited, it is anticipated in April/May start date. The 1,430 square foot renovation and 10,500 square foot addition will give the County additional housing space, medical treatment space, classroom and activity space, along with additional offices for facility staff. The County has selected the architectural firm of Goldberg Group Architects, LLC (GGA) to begin the design process. The County is pursuing a Construction Management (CM) project delivery method. The project will be done on an open book, cost plus fee basis, to a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The form of agreement will be AIA A133-2019 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager as Constructor where the basis of payment is the Cost of the Work Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price. All portions of work must be publicly bid. To qualify for consideration, a firm must be prepared to provide the expertise, resources and personnel experienced in project planning, cost management, project control, preconstruction and construction techniques, value engineering analysis, scheduling, and quality assurance throughout the planning and construction phases of the project.
