South Lamar Boulevard Corridor West Mary/Evergreen Roundabout Construction of improvements at intersections just east of South Lamar Boulevard to enhance safety and traffic operations. Intersection improvements could include roundabouts and new and/or upgraded bicycle and pedestrian facilities at Mary and Evergreen. WBE 1.66% All Bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable Bid guaranty in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid, as specified in Section 00100, Instructions to Bidders. Performance and payment bonds when required shall be executed on forms furnished by OWNER. Each bond shall be issued in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount by a solvent corporate surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and shall meet any other requirements established by law or by OWNER pursuant to applicable law. The Work consists of the construction of a roundabout and new or upgraded bicycle and pedestrian facilities at the W. Mary Street/Evergreen Avenue intersection to enhance safety and traffic operations. This work includes the removal of existing sidewalk, removal of existing curb and gutter, installation of new curb and gutter closer to the centerline of the road, construction of new concrete pavement, construction of ADA compliant shared-use paths, construction of a section of Combination C Curb wall, pavement mill and overlay, new street pavement markings, new ramps, and the installation of a roundabout. Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within seventy-nine (79) Calendar Days after date specified in the Notice to Proceed, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. Liquidated damages are seven hundred dollars ($700) per Calendar Day for failure to substantially complete the work and three hundred and fifty dollars ($350) per Calendar Day for failure to achieve final completion within thirty (30) Calendar Days after substantial completion, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any minor informality in any Bid or solicitation procedure (a minor informality is one that does not affect the competitiveness of the Bid).
