Demolition and site work for an educational facility in Flint, Michigan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools is accepting bids for a building demolition project located at Stalker Elementary School, 3329 Burnell Avenue, Flint, Michigan. Bid Proposers are to submit one (1) original and two (2) copies of the proposal. Bid Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided with the bid specification packet, must be sealed, and must be clearly labeled and include the wording "PROPOSAL: BUILDING DEMOLITION FOR STALKER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL", and be personally delivered or sent by mail or express carrier. The Board will not accept a proposal received after the date and time mentioned above. Bid proposals must remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days after the official bid opening date. The Owner reserves the right to waive bid irregularities and to reject any or all bids. The Board of Education reserves the right to acceptor reject any and all proposals, in whole or in part, and to waive any informally therein. A. Unless directed otherwise in the Contract Documents, CONTRACTOR shall: 1. Remove and properly dispose of all structures, trash, rubbish, floors, foundations, sidewalks, steps and driveways from the specified parcel. 2. Remove materials from the demolition site in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. 3. Remove and dispose of appliances and other items that may contain refrigerants in accordance with 40 CFR, Part 82. Appliances and other items that may contain refrigerants include, but are not limited to, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and portable or central air conditioners. 4. Remove and legally dispose of mercury-containing materials including fluorescent, high-pressure sodium, mercury vapor, metal halide light bulbs, and thermostats containing a liquid filled capsule. PCB-containing materials include capacitors, ballasts, and transformers where the component is contained within a metal jacket and does not have a specific, legible label stating no PCBs are present. 5. Disconnect utility services before demolition. 6. Perform site clearance, grading and restoration. 7. Complete the demolition work in accordance with the plans and these technical specifications and any special provisions included in the Contract Documents. 8. Remove any existing structures. All materials shall be transported and disposed of (at the Contractors expense) to an approved facility. If during demolition the CONTRACTOR observes any asbestos materials, the CONTRACTOR shall notify OWNER and the asbestos shall be removed by a licensed abatement contractor.
