*As of July 29, 2025 this project has been awarded to Chasteen Enterprises, Inc. for $213,292.75. Each Bidder must accompany his/her bid with a Bid Bond in amount of not less than five (5) percent of the base bid. No Bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of 90 days. The Bidder awarded the contract shall execute a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond and shall furnish insurance as required, in the General Conditions. This This contract consists of installing approximately 5,150 L.F. of 4" and 6" PVC, SDR-17 waterline and all other necessary appurtenances. contract shall be completed within 60 calendar days after date of authorization to start work. Liquidated damages will be $1,000 per calendar day. Any bid that is obviously unbalanced may be rejected. The Southern Madison Water District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities. Bidders must have experience with similar type projects in congested areas where multiple utilities are located. A list of references will be requested and thoroughly reviewed. Bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order Nos. 11246 and 11375, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Section 3, Section 109, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act and the contract Work Hours Standard Act. Question Deadline 07/08/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
