Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in South Padre Island, Texas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The Project Architect/Engineer will conduct technical activities to complete design documents for the final selected alternative, such as geotechnical studies and preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for the E.K. Atwood Park Improvements Project. The scope for the proposed architectural /engineering services will include the following: 1. Improvements to pavilion picnic area 2. Improving the entry gate, toll booth, and access roadway 3. Improving or replacing the existing parking lot 4. Improving and adding shade structures 5. Adding community rinse station areas 6. Improving and adding restrooms 7. Upgrading and expanding the potable water and sewer utilities 8. Upgrading and extending lighting throughout the park utilizing environmentally friendly fixtures 9. Adding educational signage, including language specified in the RESTORE act Guidelines. All drawings and specifications will be signed and sealed by a License Texas Engineer and/or Architect. Bid Bond-a) If the contract is for the construction of public works or is under a contract exceeding $100,000,thebidspecifications or request for proposals may enquire the bidder to furnish a good and sufficient bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total contract(262.032) Federal funded projects: exceeding$150,000(one exception sought from the federal awarding agency. For all Federal funded projects $150,000and over Bid Bonds will be mandatory equivalent to five percent of the bid price. A performance bond and payment bond will also be required -both at 100percent of contract price. The County, its contractors, their suppliers and subcontractors, and vendors of goods, equipment services, and professional services shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, handicap, or sex in the award and/or performance of contracts. All vendors, suppliers, professionals, and contractors doing business or anticipating doing business with Cameron County shall support, encourage, and implement affirmative steps toward our common goal of establishing equal opportunity for all citizens of Cameron County. REQUIREMENT OF ALL BIDDERS/PROPOSERS: Each firm responding to this solicitation shall be required to submit with their proposal information regarding minority/women business and HUB business participation in this project. Be sure that return envelope shows the RFP Number, Description and is marked "SEALED RFQ RETURN RFQ TO: by U.S. mail or delivered to the office of Purchasing Dept., County Courthouse (Dancy Bldg.) 1100 E. Monroe St, Basement Floor, Room #B17, Brownsville, Texas 78520.
